I am sure that staff is getting all the practice laps they want.

Actually the events team are the only ones who have gone on the final rink and they don't participate in events, so everyone participating has the same knowledge of the final track. The only reason people may do better than others is practice on other rinks to prepare for this event, which I do suggest since ice boating is a hard skill to learn.
